This full day tour starts off in Hoi An, where your experienced guide will pick you up at your hotel. From there we ride along quiet countryside roads past vast rice fields to the Marble Mountains. The Marble Mountains are a cluster of five marble and limestone hills located near Da Nang and are named after the five elements: Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth). We will climb the 156 steps to the summit of Thuy and take in the panoramic views of the other mountains and China Beach. We will also explore the many Hindu and Buddhist sanctuaries and grottoes that exist on the mountain and that feature statuary and relief depictions of religious scenes carved out of the marble. The village at the base of the mountain is famous for its stone sculpture craft and provides a great opportunity to bring home a stone or marble souvenir.
Next, we will ride along the sandy My Khe beach and stop to take some photos before we proceed up the windy roads of the Hai Van Pass (ocean cloud pass) to an elevation of 496 meters (1,627 ft). The Hai Van Pass crosses over the Truong Son mountain range that emerges from the west and juts into the South China Sea, which provides for spectacular views. After exploring old military installations found on top of the Pass, we will ride down the other side to Lang Co Bay where we will stop for lunch at one of Lang Co Bay’s famous seafood restaurants.
After lunch, we ride to a secret waterfall for a relaxing and refreshing swim. We will end our tour back in Hoi An after returning through the Vietnam countryside.
